Erik ten Hag defends his Manchester United transfer record and names four players
Erik ten Hag has defended his transfer record ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Erik ten Hag has had a series of criticisms put towards him in the last year due to some of his signings underperforming at Manchester United.
The club have spent in excess of £400 million to recruit the players he wants at the club, but some have pointed at the likes of Antony and André Onana as areas where money has not been spent wisely due to poor form.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag has defended his transfer record at the club, providing four players as examples from last season of where successes can be found.
“Don’t forget, last season everyone was saying how great United’s signings were – (Lisandro) Martínez, (Christian) Eriksen, and (Tyrell) Malacia,” he said on Friday afternoon.
“Casemiro was brilliant last season. We have to find a way to perform as a team, and then we’ll judge them differently.”
INEOS are expected to take full control of United’s sporting matters within the next month, which includes who is scouted and who is signed for Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Hannibal Mejbri is expected to seal a six-month loan move to Sevilla next week after the La Liga club fought off competition from Everton for his signature.
Joe Hugill is expected to join League One side Burton Albion on loan in the coming days, while Jadon Sancho has already secured his move away from Old Trafford to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.
United face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
