Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has named three of the six players he believes his former club needs to sign.

Yorke, who was an integral part of Manchester United’s famous treble-winning team stated that though the squad doesn’t need a complete reset, fresh faces are needed.

Speaking to Footy Accumulators, the former Red Devils striker named Son Heung-Min, Victor Osimhen, and former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane as the three players United should sign.

“If I were in charge of Man United and had to sign three players, then I’d pick Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane, and Son Heung-Min,” Said Yorke.

“They need to buy players like Son – players who can make a difference to your team.”

“I think Leroy Sane would give United plenty of options on the right and he’d complement Rashford well. Victor Osimhen would inject firepower and goals, and he’d complete my ideal front three.”

Despite Yorke being of the belief that United need to target the best in class for their forward options, the Red Devils have instead been linked with a host of different names of late.

Both Joshua Zirkzee and Nico Williams have been linked with a move to the club. Whilst, United reportedly decided to pass on a move for Timo Werner.

Looking past the forward options, Yorke would go on to offer his analysis of the rest of the squad:

“I feel United are OK defensively, but they lack options in midfield. I wouldn’t say the club needs a clearout, but they need at least six new players to freshen up the whole team. Too many players have been there for too long!

“Midfield options are needed, but I’m struggling to think of any stand-out names. I feel like Man United have lost their identity in this department over the last 18 months, and I worry about how fragile they look there. I find myself second-guessing the team before each game!”

Despite Yorke being of the belief that United’s defence is fine for the time being, it is believed that INEOS has begun preparing a shortlist of defensive options to bring to Old Trafford.
