Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek has been “ruled out” by Real Sociedad as Erik ten Hag targets a Premier League midfielder.

Previous reports had explained that Donny van de Beek looked to be leaving Manchester United this summer, with Erik ten Hag happy to let the player leave in order to raise funds.

Spanish club Real Sociedad were said to be talking to both the club and the player with regard to a move, but they have now “ruled out” signing the midfielder this summer.

This is according to Mundo Deportivo (via MEN), who claim that the club are now instead ‘focusing their energy’ on signing Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow.

It is further explained that they have no intention to try to sign the Dutchman later on in the window, either.

There has been talk of Ajax considering re-signing the player, however, significant news in relation to this potential move is yet to materialise.

Meanwhile, Simon Jones of the Daily Mail has explained that United have turned their heads to Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, who was one of the standout players for the Merseyside club last campaign.

Multiple reports have stated that Everton would demand between £50-60 million for the player, but that should they receive an acceptable bid, they would not stand in the way of letting the player leave.

United are said to be “assessing” a move for the player but have not ruled out the signing of Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat – Everton’s valuation of their player will play a key role in deciding the next steps.
