Manchester United have reportedly finalised their valuation of Diogo Dalot as they look to strengthen at right-back this summer.

Since 2019, Manchester United have had Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as their right-back options, apart from 2020/21, when the former spent a season at AC Milan.

Under Erik ten Hag, Dalot has firmly established himself as the first-choice right-back and one of the most integral parts of the Dutchman’s team, with the player playing almost every possible game that he is fit and available for.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, United are now looking to sign a new right-back this summer, with it being said that many feel it needs to be a player who can “assume pole position in the pecking order”.

Wan-Bissaka is currently the more likely of the two to be sold this summer, with the club needing to raise funds for further transfers, however it has been revealed that United could sell Dalot for double what they bought him for should they need to.

After sealing Dalot’s transfer from FC Porto in 2018 for £19 million, according to Steve Bates, United now value the player at double what they paid for him – making him worth £38 million.

From now, it is up to Dalot if the club look to sign someone to replace him as a first-choice right-back or to find him a new understudy next summer – and his previous track record shows that he does not give up without a fight.

There have been period where Wan-Bissaka has had the edge over Dalot in the last six years, but so far, every time the tide seems to be turning, Dalot is able to fight his way back into the starting XI.

Another one of Dalot’s key attributes is he hs able to play both full-back positions, which is only increases his value as a defender.
