Casemiro and Erik ten Hag are reportedly at odds as Manchester United name their transfer price for the midfielder this summer.

Manchester United are facing a significant sliding doors moment as tensions between Erik ten Hag and Casemiro are said to have risen.

According to Goal, the Brazilian midfielder is reportedly unhappy with Ten Hag’s decision to exclude him from the FA Cup final squad due to the midfielder not being 100% fit, leading to a significant rift between the two.

Casemiro is now set to meet with the club’s board to discuss his future, with a potential exit on the horizon. Interest from Saudi clubs, including Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, and Al-Qasidiya, could provide lucrative opportunities for him, with Saudi Pro League sides handing out high-salary deals to professional players.

Even if Ten Hag departs Old Trafford this summer, which may well be the case, Casemiro’s desire to leave suggests deeper issues within the squad that may need addressing. Previous reports have also stated that Casemiro has been unhappy with his recent role in the squad.

The financial implications of his departure would be significant, freeing up substantial wage funds for reinvestment. It is claimed that United are looking for around £30 million for the midfielder this summer.

As INEOS navigates this period of uncertainty at the club, the outcome of Casemiro’s discussions will likely shape their summer transfer strategies and squad restructuring efforts, partly due to the extra funds that such a deal could free up.

Other players, such as Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, are also set to be sold this summer following their respective exclusions from the squad.
