Casemiro explains four reasons why Kobbie Mainoo will be “one of the best” at Manchester United
Casemiro has nothing but positives to say about Kobbie Mainoo as the teenager continues to shine as one of the best players in United’s midfield.
Kobbie Mainoo has cemented his place in Erik ten Hag’s squad following consistent performances well above his years leading to many fans and pundits calling for his name to be in Gareth Southgate’s side for the 2024 Euros.
Despite his age, Mainoo was one of only a few United players who kept their head in a frantic game against Luton Town on Sunday as the 18-year-old broke a record previously held by Paul Pogba in a relatively composed midfield display.

Casemiro, who played the first half alongside United’s No.37 before getting hooked at halftime following a reckless yellow card has waxed lyrical about his teammate in a recent interview with the club.
“First off, I’d like to congratulate Kobbie. He’s only 18, and he’s already a starter at a club like Manchester United,” said Casemiro to TeamViewer Diaries.
The Brazilian continued, explaining four reasons why Mainoo has a chance to reach the top: “It’s not easy, there’s a lot of pressure. But I think United will have a top player for the next years, easily. He’s a top player. He’s exceptional. He’s a humble, hard-working player. He knows how to listen. He’s a great player.”
Proving to be the perfect partnership of age and experience and youthful exuberant United are yet to lose a game in which Casemiro and Mainoo are paired in the midfield.
Casemiro is pipping the student to become the master as he ends his praise by saying: “Since I play alongside him, I know Manchester United will have one of the best midfielders in the Premier League for the next years, easily.
“I think we have to recognise his value. He’s a great kid. I’m very happy that he’s on our side. As long as he keeps his head on straight, just as he’s doing now, I think we’ll have a great player for many, many years here at United.”
Kobbie Mainoo is definitely the future of Manchester United, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS should build the midfield around him as an anchor point. If his world-class form continues, it’s not showing any sign of stopping.
