Bournemouth fullback Milos Kerkez addresses transfer speculation amid Man United interest
Bournemouth fullback Milos Kerkez has addressed the transfer speculation surrounding him as Manchester United hold an interest ahead of the summer window.
The transfer market opens for Premier League clubs on Friday, June 14, the same day the European Championships begin when Scotland take on hosts Germany.
United are expecting to be particularly busy as new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will aim to improve the playing squad at Old Trafford.
According to talkSPORT, the Reds are interested in Bournemouth’s young left-back, Milos Kerkez to boost their squad.
The 20-year-old fullback has been identified as a potential option to provide competition and cover for Luke Shaw, who was injured for the latter half of the 2023/24 campaign.
Shaw was rushed back from a minor knock in February. Tyrell Malacia did not make a single appearance last season, either.
Kerkez joined the Cherries from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for an undisclosed fee and made 33 appearances for Andoni Iraola’s overachieving side last season.
The Hungary international, developed in AC Milan’s youth program, has been named in their Euro 2024 squad. Marco Rossi’s team will face Switzerland, Germany, and Scotland in their group fixtures in June.
Kerkez is confident in his ability to reach the highest level but recently explained that he leaves the transfer speculation to his agents.
Speaking to BBC Radio Solent in April 2024 about the reported interest in him, the defender said: “I am not occupied with transfer news.
“The people who take care of me deal with all of that. I am only focused on Bournemouth and my performances here.
“I know I am young. I know what I can do and what level I can get to, so I just have to see what happens in the future.”
