“Big admirer” – Erik ten Hag’s next job suggested if sacked by Man United
Erik ten Hag could leave Manchester United if not afforded significant money to spend in the summer transfer market under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.
That is accorded to information from Simon Mullock of the Mirror and shortly follows comments from the United manager suggesting he was frustrated the club could not bring in a no.9 in the January window.
“It’s not a secret that I wanted an extra striker,” Ten Hag told reporters this week. “Because with the injury of Martial, we don’t really have back-up there, but it was not possible because we have to match the Financial Fair Play rules.”
Ten Hag joined United in the summer of 2022 and is now in his second season at Old Trafford. He has spent over £400 million in transfers since then, with Antony at £85 million as his most expensive signing.

However, the aforementioned report explained that Ten Hag wants answers on whether he will be given money to spend on new players in the summer, after feeling that there has been a lack of consistent backing in the transfer market to reshape the squad he inherited.
Both Frenkie de Jong and Harry Kane were highlighted as first-choice signings that were missed by those at Old Trafford, which left Ten Hag frustrated.
Of course, his future at the club is not simply in his hands. INEOS could look to move on the Dutchman for their own man in their new sporting setup at United.
Mullock added that if the 54-year-old were to end up leaving United, he could be a target for Bayer Leverkusen in the summer if they lose coach Xabi Alonso to Liverpool.
Ten Hag still owns a house close to the German border and was said to become a big admirer of the Bundesliga when he was reserve-team coach at Bayern Munich.
