Amad Diallo backs Manchester United star to become “one of the best in history”
Amad Diallo has backed one of his fellow Manchester United stars to become one of the best players “in history” after a breakout season under Erik ten Hag.
Amad Diallo‘s career at Manchester United is finally getting started, almost four years after he signed for the Old Trafford club in January 2021.
Following his first goal for the club against AC Milan, Amad did not get many chances, and in January 2022, he went on loan to Rangers for six months.

After this did not work out as planned, he spent a further season on loan in the Championship with Sunderland, where he nailed down a starting place and won the supporters’ Young Player of the Year award.
After arriving back in Manchester, Amad suffered a significant knee injury that kept him out for four months until December 2023. After further months on the bench, he finally broke into the first team towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Amad is now a nailed-down first-team player and has been Erik ten Hag’s most consistent player across 2024/25. He has a bright future ahead of him, but it is one of his teammates that Amad feels could be one of the best in history.
When answering fan questions, he was asked about two of his talented teammates and took the opportunity to heap praise on Kobbie Mainoo.
“Talking about Kobbie is like talking about a big legend. Kobbie at his age is so good,” Amad told Sky Sports.
“He’s an amazing player, a good person, and I am very close to him. He can show more, more, more than he has now, and I think he’s going to be one of the best players in history.”
Continuing, Amad was asked about Alejandro Garnacho, who Amad believes has an incredible work ethic.
“Garnacho is an amazing player. I like him because he wants to push, you know. He wants to push. He wants to reach his potential.”
