Zinedine Zidane explains stance on Man United move amid INEOS ‘dream’ interest
Zinedine Zidane has explained his stance on a potential move to Manchester United as INEOS ‘dream’ of him joining the club.
The former Real Madrid manager has been out of work since he left the Santiago Bernabéu stadium in 2021.
Erik ten Hag joined United in the summer of the following year after Ole Gunnar Solskjær was sacked midway through the prior season.
The Dutch manager impressed during his first term in charge at Old Trafford but is now struggling. It would not be a surprise to see INEOS opt to change manager in the summer.
Zidane has emerged as a potential option, with a report from footmercato stating that INEOS ‘dream’ of having the Frenchman as the manager at Old Trafford and are working behind the scenes to get a new manager for the club.

It was added that Jean-Claude Blanc and INEOS are huge fans of Zidane and Blanc has previously attempted to recruit him for PSG when he was at the French club.
However, Zidane has previously been linked with an Old Trafford move – before Ten Hag was signed to the managerial role – and explained the reason why he would be hesitant of the move.
Speaking in the summer of 2022, he was asked about his interest in United, and replied: “Would I want to go to Manchester [United]? I understand English, but I’m not completely fluent in it,” explained Zidane.
“I know that there are coaches who go to clubs without speaking the language, but I work in a different way. Many elements come into play in order to win, it is a global context. I know what I need to win.”
