Yoro update, Maguire, Mainoo: Manchester United injury latest ahead of Everton (Premier League)
The latest round-up of Manchester United’s injury list as Rúben Amorim prepares his side to face Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Rúben Amorim is preparing for his second Premier League match as Manchester United‘s head coach, with Everton set to visit Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
United have started Amorim’s tenure with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town and a 3-2 victory over Bodo/Glimt, building on the positive momentum established under Ruud van Nistelrooy prior to the managerial change.

This clash marks Amorim’s first Premier League fixture at Old Trafford, following his debut at the stadium during Thursday’s match. With United eager to climb the table, securing points is crucial.
Currently, they are 12th in the league standings with 16 points, trailing Arsenal and Chelsea by six points in the race for a top-four Champions League spot.
Injury latest
Despite United having a mounting number of injury issues earlier this season, Rúben Amorim is finding that many of his players are now returning to the fold.
After eight months without either player, left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both featured in midweek, while Lisandro Martínez returned to action after missing the Ipswich game with a back problem.
While Leny Yoro is yet to feature in a matchday squad, he has been training for a few weeks with the side, and they are slowly integrating him back into the team.
Harry Maguire is also back in training after almost a month without injury, although Amorim admitted on Wednesday that he is not yet fully fit to play.
Some are worried that Kobbie Mainoo has a slight issue after not making an appearance off the bench in either tie since his return, but there is not thought to be a problem, and he is simply working on his fitness.
Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelöf were out of the side’s last training session, with the latter injured during the recent international break.
Toby Collyer also remains out but is thought to be back in rehabilitation, while Dan Gore is also expected to return to training soon.
Leny Yoro update
Interestingly, injury expert Ben Dinnery recently gave a positive update on Yoro, explaining that once he returns to duty, the injury is unlikely to occur again, which will be music to United fans’ ears.
“The actual injury itself is a bone injury. It’s a metatarsal fracture. So once that bone is healed you’re not going to get any real sort of long term issues with that, or rarely do you,” Dinnery said.
“So once that is healed then he should be absolutely fine. You will manage his load accordingly, but other than that, there aren’t really any major red flags on players returning from that type of problem.
“I think there’s maybe been one or two such recalls over the last 15-plus years. So it’s fairly routine and once the recovery and the rehab protocols are complete, then typically the player should be ready to kick on.”
