Wolves star Matheus Cunha has sent a clear transfer message to supporters amid reported interest from the likes of Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim’s start at Manchester United has seen mixed results, with three wins from his first six matches.

The team has displayed both strengths and weaknesses as they adapt to the 39-year-old’s tactical vision at Old Trafford.

Amorim continues to evaluate the squad to determine which players align with his style and long-term goals for the club. The club will also be eyeing potential targets who could help their head coach.

Matheus Cunha makes feelings clear

Matheus Cunha has been linked to various clubs in recent months and over the last summer window, including United, but has reaffirmed his transfer stance this week.

The exciting Brazilian forward says that he is happy at Wolves and feels at ‘home’ at the Molineux Stadium, where he has two and a half more years remaining on his contract.

“I feel like it’s my home. I feel the admiration of the fans, and this is something that I never believed I would get when I first came here, to a small city in England, which is completely different from my hometown – but now I feel like I’m at home,” he told club media.

“The fans are unbelievable with me, with my family, and I have only great things to say about my teammates. But to go to the stadium and to perform for them is like I feel at home.

“I feel like I want to do everything I can to change the situation, because when you play with a little bit more passion, not as if it was just my work, then I think you put in a little bit more things that can change it.”

Cunha situation could change

While it seems clear that Cunha is happy at his current club, there is no denying that a transfer would almost become a certainty next summer if Wolves were relegated to the Championship.

As things stand, they sit 19th in the Premier League table and are four points away from safety.

Gary O’Neil’s future is in doubt and perhaps a managerial change can improve their fortunes to avoid the drop.

Should they remain in the division, it would be much more difficult to pry Cunha away from the club. But if they were to end up dropping down to the second tier, it would certainly be a move that United would be eying.
