Manchester United have six players due to return in the coming weeks as Erik ten Hag prepares for the second half of his Premier League campaign.

Manchester United have gone through what can only be described as a monumental injury crisis this season, with Erik ten Hag‘s results suffering as a consequence.

United have had 18 players unavailable at various points throughout the campaign, with the manager having entire XIs of injured players to deal with.

However, United seem to be on the mend as a squad, with their final six injuries set to return in the next few weeks, as per Chris Wheeler.

Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has been injured since the November international break, where the player had to be substituted before half-time due to a knee problem.

He has returned to training on Monday morning, and with United’s next game not until Saturday afternoon against West Ham, he will likely be fully fit to make a return to the squad this coming weekend.

Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo has been injured since July after suffering a problem against Arsenal in pre-season during their New York fixture and has not played since.

Amad has been training on grass for a few weeks but has not been involved in any squads or group training, but is expected to be fit by the end of December.

Mason Mount

Mason Mount has had a hard first few months as Manchester United’s new No. 7, with the player suffering multiple injuries since his debut for the club back in August.

Mpunt has missed 13 games this season with two separate injuries, with the latest being a calf problem that occurred at the end of November that has had him out for a month. Mount is, however, currently expected to be fit before the end of 2023.

Tyrell Malacia

Tyrell Malacia has not appeared for United since the end of last season after having surgery on his knee. Although he was in recovery, he had to undergo a second surgery after an issue flared up with the first one during his rehabilitation.

Malacia is expected to be fit again in the first weeks of January.

Lisandro Martínez

Lisandro Martínez, arguably one of United’s most important players under Erik ten Hag, has struggled with a Metatarsal fracture since April 2023. He was ruled out for the remainder of last season and underwent an operation, and although he was cleared fit to play again and appeared, he soon had to go under the knife again after complications arose.

He has missed 19 games since the end of September but has returned to training in the last week. He took part in some group sessions last Monday but is training alone for the most part as he continues his rehabilitation, and is due back in January.

Casemiro

Casemiro is the last player who is expected back in training from the six current absences from Erik ten Hag’s squad.

He has missed 14 games since he suffered a hamstring strain in October’s 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, with the club confirming he was out for “several weeks”. Although he has been spotted training on grass, he is not expected back until at least towards the end of January
