What happens in the Man United dressing room when Lisandro Martínez isn’t there
Lisandro Martínez has been a huge miss for Manchester United this season after the defender suffered three injury setbacks in the last 10 months at Old Trafford.
Lisandro Martínez is currently out through injury and is not expected to play for Manchester United again until early April following a knee injury against West Ham earlier this month.
Martínez had only just returned from having to undergo a second surgery on his foot after the first one earlier in 2023 did not heal as planned, and he has been a huge miss for Erik ten Hag‘s side.

The central defender, when he plays, is one of the most important players on the pitch at United, with the play central to both defending André Onana’s goal and also starting attacks from the defensive line.
Journalist Alex Crook has explained how losing fan-favourite Martínez affects the Manchester United dressing room when he is not around.
“It’s interesting you mention Lisandro Martinez. He is a real fans’ favourite as much for his industry and leadership as for his footballing ability,” Crook told TalkSPORT.
“I am told when he is not in the dressing room, and he has missed a lot of games this season, that it is a very quiet dressing room. There aren’t too many leaders out there. You can see that on the pitch.”
Erik ten Hag knows this, explaining that losing Martínez is “really bad” for his team.
“First of all, it is a personal disaster when it is really bad, but also for the team, it is really bad because he definitely brings us a lot,” the Dutch manager said earlier this month.
