Wes Brown has named two standout Manchester United performers in the club’s 3-0 win over Leicester City this weekend.

Manchester United claimed an impressive win at Old Trafford on Sunday, edging closer to the Premier League’s top four.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side looked confident and controlled throughout, facing minimal resistance from Leicester City.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with a brilliant strike from distance, set up by a slick back-heel from Amad Diallo.

The captain then contributed to United’s second goal with a well-placed header, though it was ultimately recorded as an own-goal by Victor Kristiansen.

Alejandro Garnacho added the final touch with a superb shot into the top corner late in the second half.

Under Van Nistelrooy’s interim leadership, United secured three wins and a draw, providing incoming manager Ruben Amorim with a strong foundation to build on.

“Oh there was a few,” replied Wes Brown when asked for his standout performers in the win on MUTV’s matchday review programme after the game.

“I think it started off with Amad, who really carried on from the other game [against PAOK].

“But for me, the [Man of the Match] has to be Bruno [Fernandes].”

It is an understandable choice from the former United defender, although players like Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro may feel hard done by after very solid performances.

Yet, it was Fernandes and Amad who seemed to be the heartbeat for United in the final third throughout the 90 minutes.
