Bruno Fernandes sends the perfect message to Ruben Amorim after Man Utd 3-0 Leicester City
Bruno Fernandes has sent the perfect message to incoming Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim following the 3-0 win against Leicester City.
Manchester United secured a convincing three points at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon to put them closer to the Premier League’s top four.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side were solid throughout the game and never really looked in any trouble against The Foxes.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring with an excellent strike from range after a smart back-heeled pass from Amad Diallo.
The club captain leaped in the box to help double United’s lead, although it ended up being given as an own-goal from Victor Kristiansen.
Alejandro Garnacho added a third for the hosts late in the second half with a wonderful strike into the top corner.
United won three and drew one game under Van Nistelrooy’s leadership as interim manager which gives Ruben Amorim a better platform to start his role.
The new head coach starts his role on Monday morning and has a lot of work to do in order to bring United back challenging at the top.
Club captain Fernandes has stated that there will be many differences under the new head coach. However, he also claimed that one thing will not change.
The 30-year-old believes that the mindset of needing to get United back to the top, where they belong, is the one constant that remains at Old Trafford.
“It’s a new era, a new manager means everything changes but what hasn’t changed is that this club has to get back to where it belongs,” said Fernandes after the 3-0 win against Leicester.
Perhaps some will question whether everyone has been completely focused on that in recent years. It is Amorim’s job to make sure the entire squad is moving in the right direction.
But the 39-year-old will be delighted to see determination like this from his squad.
