Thomas Frank has explained his position on his Brentford future amid rumours he could replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

Manchester United have had a difficult start to the season with Erik ten Hag’s side sitting 14th in the Premier League table.

The Dutch manager survived the latest international break but will remain under pressure unless results improve at Old Trafford.

One of the favourite options to replace Ten Hag was former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel but he was announced as the new England manager this week.

That leaves minimal options for INEOS if they are forced into sacking Ten Hag this season. Thomas Frank of Brentford has been reported as one of the options the United regime have interest in.

He will travel to Old Trafford this weekend with his team in the hopes of getting a result against the struggling Reds.

In an interview with TalkSPORT this week, Frank has explained that he is “very happy” at Brentford but admits that the future is difficult to predict.

“I’ve said many times I’m very happy at Brentford,” Frank responded when asked about the possibility of moving amid United interest.

“Who knows what will happen in the future. Maybe I stay here for many years. I’m open, maybe something happens.

“But first and foremost, very happy, just working very hard every day to make the club better.

“That’s because it’s very difficult to predict the future. Who knows what will happen. How many coaches have been at the same club more than six years? Very few.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will be expecting results and performances to improve in the coming weeks, with Ten Hag now in his third season at the club.
