Serie A star hints that he wants Manchester United move this summer to re-join teammate
Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has told reporters that he is eager to move to a top Premier League side this summer.
With 10 goals and 3 assists in 25 Serie A appearances this season, Koopmeiners has been the star player of an Atalanta side that has failed to return to the Champions League during his time with the club.
Spending last season playing alongside current Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund, Koopmeiners is no stranger to both members of the Red Devils’ squad as well as their scouting department.

During their time playing together, Koopmeiners made 29 appearances in all competitions alongside Højlund. In that time the Dutchman assisted the striker on one occasion.
Since then, Koopemeiners has been frequently linked with a move away from Atalanta, and it was reported earlier this month that United have sent scouts to watch his performances on several occasions this season.
Discussing his immediate future, Koopmeiners has admitted that he wants to leave Atalanta this summer and would welcome a move to a Premier League side.
“Last year there was concrete interest from Napoli. However, in the end, the two clubs did not find an agreement,” Koopmeiners told De Telegraf (quotes via CorrieredelloSport). “I told Atalanta that in the coming summer, I want to move. But something really interesting must present itself to leave Bergamo.
“My fiancée and I are having a great time in Italy, but for some clubs in England, I could even bear the rainy days there…
“I hope options present themselves so I can think about it. I hope Atalanta gets a good fee for me because I have had a wonderful time in Bergamo.
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t hear the news about the interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs have shown to me.”
If Koopmeiners were to join United, it would mark the club’s fourth signing from Serie A under Erik ten Hag, following the arrivals of Andre Onana, the aforementioned Rasmus Hojlund, and Sofyan Amrabat.
