Wayne Rooney joined Manchester United from Everton in 2004 for £27 million, becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer with 253 goals in 559 appearances. Over 13 seasons, he won 16 major trophies, including five Premier League titles, the FA Cup, and the 2008 UEFA Champions League. 
Renowned for his versatility and work rate, Rooney was named PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2009–10 and scored one of the Premier League’s most iconic goals—a bicycle kick against Manchester City in 2011. He departed United in 2017, having surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal record, and later played for Everton, D.C. United, and Derby County before transitioning into management.
