Sofyan Amrabat makes transfer decision after Man United message, they are looking elsewhere
Sofyan Amrabat makes a new transfer decision after receiving a message from Manchester United, who are now looking elsewhere.
Manchester United have decided against moving forward in any deal for Sofyan Amrabat, even as a potential second midfield signing alongside Manuel Ugarte.
It was recently revealed by Corriere dello Sport that United “would not satisfy” the demands of Fiorentina and Amrabat will not be moving back to the club.
It was explained that the Italian side werre looking for around £12.7 million for the player, but United are not planning to proceed with a deal.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, there is now continuous contact between Fiorentina and Fenerbahce in relation to a potential deal involving Amrabat.
It was added that the player has already given his OK for an initial loan to Turkey, with an obligation to buy for around £12 million.
Interestingly, previous reports have suggested that if the club sell players in the closing stages of this transfer window, then there could be space for a second midfield signing after Ugarte.
However, with Amrabat’s decision now made up, he will not be that second midfield player.
Instead, United will likely be considering different options that are likely to be around the same price point.
The club have also secured the signing of 18-year-old Sekou Kone for just £1 million but he is expected to start his United career in the academy setup.
They will join the likes of Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Christian Eriksen as existing midfield depth at Old Trafford.
