Manchester United have struggled with injuries so far this term and Erik ten Hag will be hoping to have important players back soon.

Fresh concerns have been created over the international break with both Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana being subbed off following injuries for their nations.

They join a list of United players who Ten Hag is without at the moment and the potential return dates for those players differ across the board.

Below, we have compiled each player out of action for The Reds at the moment, the extent of their injuries and when they are expected to return to action.

Marcus Rashford

Injury: Unknown

Context: Marcus Rashford was replaced midway through the second half of England’s qualifying game against Malta following a heavy collision with Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. It was later stated by manager Gareth Southgate that Rashford was okay when he came off.

Potential return date: 26 November, vs Everton

Andre Onana

Injury: Shoulder

Context: The initial indications of André Onana’s injury, according to Fabrizio Romano, are optimistic. It’s a shoulder problem from a game with Cameroon but the issue doesn’t look like a serious one and he is expected to be fit for the upcoming games for United.

Potential return date: 26 November, vs Everton

Luke Shaw

Injury: Muscular

Context: Luke Shaw has been out of action since the second game of the season and is closing in on a return. Ten Hag has previously stated that he was ruled out until after this international break and reports have suggested that the full-back’s rehab is going ‘really well’.

Rasmus Hojlund

Injury: Hamstring

Context: Rasmus Hojlund was forced off against Luton Town after appearing in discomfort midway through the second half. He has not been on international duty with Denmark and the club earmarked a return towards the end of the month for the striker.

Christian Eriksen

Injury: Knee

Context: Christian Eriksen also suffered injury during the game against Luton Town with a twisted knee and his layout is expected to be slightly longer than teammate Hojlund.

Casemiro

Injury: Hamstring

Context: Casemiro suffered a frustrating setback with his hamstring when he returned from injury against Newcastle United last month. Ten Hag has stated that he does not expect the Brazilian to return this side of the calendar year.

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: Foot

Context: Lisandro Martinez is recovering from his second issue with his metatarsal and like Casemiro, he is not expected to return until the new year.

Tyrell Malacia

Injury: Knee

Context: Tyrell Malacia is recovering from a serious knee injury that led to surgery and is now back doing individual work on the grass. There is limited information on the timeframe for a potential return but now back in some form of training, he doesn’t seem too far away.

Amad Diallo

Injury: Knee

Context: Amad Diallo has been out of action since pre-season with an injury but is now back at Carrington in individual training and he looks likely to make his return before the end of the year.
