Serie A defender Gelison Bremer has reacted to summer transfer links, with Manchester United reportedly interested.
Bremer, 27, has been linked with United in recent months as an option to boost the defensive line at Old Trafford following Raphaël Varane’s departure.
The Juventus centre-back is on INEOS‘ shortlist, and reports claim the Reds have been tracking him for months.
It has been reported that a deal could potentially be done for around £43 million. However, it appears that Matthijs de Ligt is the favoured option to bolster the backline.
De Ligt is reportedly close to a move from Bayern Munich, although United are interested in signing two centre-backs this summer.
Bremer was part of the Brazil team that was knocked out of the Copa America this weekend and he spoke about the interest he’s received this summer beforehand.
“I am flattered by the interest of some top clubs, but I am already in a great team like Juventus,” he said, as per MEN.
“I am very focused on the Copa America. I have many goals. I want to play one or two World Cups, and I want to continue fighting for important titles in Europe.”
It remains to be seen whether United will move forward with a deal for the 27-year-old.
It would likely depend on whether Everton is willing to negotiate a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite, who United are eager to sign.
The Reds saw an opening offer of £43 million rejected by the Premier League club, who are asking for at least £70 million for the 21-year-old.
Branthwaite has agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford club, but they are unwilling to meet his current price tag.
