Rio Ferdinand loves Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new comments about Man United’s transfer strategy
Rio Ferdinand has explained that he is very happy with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new approach to Manchester United’s transfer strategy.
In the last few seasons, Manchester United‘s transfer strategy has been trying to buy the best players in order to recreate the once-great squad that Old Trafford had under Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, this has been a strategy that has ultimately failed, with many big-money signings such as Angel Di Maria, Paul Pogba, and Romelu Lukaku ultimately falling short of expectations.

United of old may have tried to sign Kylian Mbappe, but under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, this is no longer going to be an avenue they pursue.
When asked if he would want United to sign the superstar, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said he would rather find the “next Mbappe” than spend money on signing the player himself.
“What I would rather do, I’d rather find the next Mbappe, rather than spend a fortune just trying to buy success,” Ratlicffe said on the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast.
“It’s not, you know, it’s not that clever, is it, buying Mbappe, in a way? And, you know, anybody, anyone could figure that one out. But what’s much more challenging is to find the next Mbappé, or the next (Jude) Bellingham, or the next Roy Keane.”
Man United’s legendary central defender Rio Ferdinand has explained that he “loves” the attitude that Ratcliffe is showing.
“Happy. Happy,” Ferdinand said on FIVE. “I have to say, we’d take Mbappe – there’s no way we wouldn’t, I would love to see Mbappe at Manchester United in the red shirt.
“But I do love the fact that he’s talking about generating his own superstars from under the roof at Carrington or buying really early and young, I like that,”
