Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to respond to criticism over the sudden increase in price for Manchester United tickets.

Manchester United and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have come under fire for a controversial decision to increase ticket prices at Old Trafford.

The club has introduced a flat rate of £66 for all remaining home games this season, eliminating concessions for young fans and over-65s. This change has significantly reduced affordability for many working-class supporters.

During Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over Everton, fans in the Stretford End displayed a banner reading “Stop Exploiting Loyalty,” highlighting their discontent.

Before kick-off, a group of supporters also chanted against Sir Jim Ratcliffe, likening him to the unpopular Glazer family.

In response to the backlash and an email sent to CEO Omar Berrada, United responded to fans this week, defending the price increase as part of broader efforts to strengthen the club’s financial stability.

However, co-owner Ratcliffe will soon speak out about the issue in an interview with United We Stand.

Owner Andy Mitten has revealed that the next edition of the long-standing United magazine will include an interview with Ratcliffe, where he spoke to the British billionaire for over 30 minutes.

The magazine is available for purchase on uwsonline.com, as well as outside of Old Trafford before the weekend’s fixture against Nottingham Forest.

“I was pretty annoyed on Wednesday morning and I felt that he should speak to me,” Mitten said on the Talk of the Devils podcast.

“I sat with him and spoke to him for 36 minutes. I made my feelings very clear… I felt it was important to get in front of him, look him in the eye and speak to him on a range of subjects.”

United fans will be hoping that the negative feedback will lead the club into making a U-Turn, especially while other Premier League clubs are putting their actions to shame.

Brentford announced their Gen10 initiative this week, where all Under-18 supporters will be able to watch Premier League games at the Gtech Community Stadium for just £10 for the rest of the season.
