Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of one Manchester United star but a deal seems rather unlikely.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in several Manchester United players. The Old Trafford club has produced some high-level young talents despite the poor season it has endured under Erik ten Hag.

Reports this season have documented how the La Liga club are big fans of both Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund, while others claim they are also keeping an eye on Kobbie Mainoo during his rise to stardom.

While INEOS are reportedly letting almost all United players leave this summer for the right price, the three aforementioned players are on an “untouchables” list and will not leave Old Trafford in 2024.

However, Bruno Fernandes is one player who is up for sale should the right bid come in—although a transfer seems unlikely.

Madrid like Fernandes

According to a report from The Sun, Los Blancos have been long-term admirers of the now Manchester United star midfielder.

This does not come as much of a surprise, as Fernandes has been breaking records at Old Trafford from the moment he joined and has a Galacticos-esque mentality that Florentino Perez, the president of the Real Madrid club, would admire.

Beyond this, the report also claims that Madrid went as far as scouting Fernandes during the 2022 World Cup and have been keen on securing him since he was at Sporting Lisbon.

This would mean that their interest in Fernandes dates back more than five years, as he joined United over four years ago in January 2020.

How much is Bruno Fernandes?

A BBC report last month claimed it would take “a mega offer” for United to part ways with one of its prize possessions.

Analysis of statistics shows that the Portuguese magnifico is United’s second most valuable player, with a transfer value of between £50-60 million. However, any bid would have to be much higher to convince United to sell their club captain.
