Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes Erik ten Hag sack decision following Manchester United loss
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly made a decision regarding Erik ten Hag’s immediate future following Manchester United’s 3-0 loss against Tottenham.
Manchester United fell to their third Premier League defeat of the season, suffering a 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
The game began with Spurs striking first, as Brennan Johnson scored early, and they kept up the pressure on André Onana throughout the first half.

Things took a turn for the worse for United just before halftime when Bruno Fernandes received a red card for a reckless tackle on James Maddison, causing the team’s momentum to collapse.
Tottenham quickly extended their lead in the second half, and despite United’s attempts to mount a comeback, Spurs sealed their victory with a third goal from Dominic Solanke with 15 minutes to go.
Following the result, fans have started to call for the Dutch manager to be sacked. The team have quickly fallen into turmoil despite heavy backing in the transfer market and a contract extension in the summer.
However, according to the BBC, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s United have decided against giving in to these demands, and the manager will remain in charge for the foreseeable future.
According to the report, Ten Hag is set to stay at the helm of his squad for the upcoming fixtures this week, where United will face FC Porto away from home in the Europa League before visiting West Ham in East London, back in the Premier League.
Following this, there will be an international break, and should United not perform well in these two fixtures, serious questions will be posed to the club surrounding he Dutchman’s future.
Speaking after the Tottenham loss, Ten Hag insisted that he was not thinking about losing his job and that the whole club remained aligned with his vision for United.
“No, I am not thinking about this,” he responded when asked if he was worried that the club’s board may choose to sack him.
“We all made this decision to stay together in summer, as ownership group, leadership group,” he added.
“Also we made the decision, after a clear review, what we have to improve as an organisation and how to construct a squad.
“All decisions made in togetherness, also knowing it would take some time. We are all there on one page, one boat, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff, players too.”
