In their pursuit of three crucial Premier League points, Manchester United are gearing up for a Saturday afternoon clash against Everton at Old Trafford.

Currently trailing 11 points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, Manchester United are striving to secure a spot in the Champions League for the next season, aligning with Erik ten Hag‘s primary objective for the remainder of the campaign.

Facing Everton at Old Trafford, the team is confronted with the urgency of bouncing back after consecutive defeats against Fulham and Manchester City. Failing to secure a victory this weekend would virtually extinguish their chances of finishing in the top four.

As with every fixture, it will be officiated by the match referees, which the Premier League have now confirmed ahead of the tie.

Confirmed officials

Simon Hooper (pictured above) will be the man with the whistle at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon. The experienced referee has taken charge of two United games this season: The opening game of the season (a 1-0 win over Wolves) and the 2-0 loss against West Ham in December.

On the sidelines will be Adrian Holmes and Simon Long, who will act as assistant referees for Hooper during the game. The fourth official job has been handed to Gavin Ward, who will separate Erik ten Hag and Sean Dyche on Sunday.

The Video Assistant Referee job has been handed to Michael Salisbury, who Sian Massey-Ellis will assist.
