The Premier League have confirmed the match officials for Saturday afternoon’s game between Manchester United and Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Erik ten Hag’s men travel to London in an attempt to turn around their form after back-to-back 3-0 losses against Manchester City and Newcastle United.

The Reds currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League table, whilst Marco Silva’s side are 15th with three wins so far this term.

So far this term, unfortunately, many league fixtures have been dominated by either the on-field referee or VAR decisions. United have had major decisions go for and against them and many will be focused on the refereeing performance on Saturday, as has become the norm in the modern VAR era.

Given that, below is the list of match officials for this important Premier League clash.

Match Referee

Leading the match will be John Brooks, who has refereed 13 games so far this term but none including The Reds.

Overall, he has officiated three United games so far in his career, with the latest being a 2-0 win against Wolves last term.

He has often been seen leading VAR for United games, however.

Assistant Referees

Those flanking Brooks will be the pairing of Lee Betts and Matthew Wilkes who have assisted 399 Premier League games between them.

Video Assistant Referees (VAR)

On VAR, which is almost as important as the on-field referee now, is Jarred Gillett, and his assistant will be Sian Massey-Ellis. Former United manager David Moyes has previously claimed the Australian ‘shouldn’t be near football’.

That was following a poor blunder on VAR duty during a Chelsea game against West Ham. He was also in the VAR room for United’s clash against Arsenal in 2022 when he was at the forefront of several controversial errors.

Fourth Official

In between Ten Hag and Silva, attempting to ensure things remain calm, is Rebecca Welch and she will be keeping a close eye on the Fulham manager, who was sent off against United in the FA Cup last term, alongside two of his players, in a shocking collapse.
