Premier League chiefs have ignored Manchester United’s plea after Erik ten Hag slammed their decision-makers this weekend.

The Reds have started the new season in mixed fashion, winning two of their opening four Premier League outings.

However, Erik ten Hag’s side will have confidence going into their next game against Crystal Palace after winning 7-0 in the Carabao Cup against Barnsley.

Yet, there is another aspect of that upcoming game that will frustrate the club and supporters.

Premier League ignore United’s plea

According to a report from MailOnline this week, United wrote to the Premier League last season to express their frustration about the Saturday 8pm kick-offs.

The Reds were given that kick-off slot four times last season, more than any other club, all of which were away from Old Trafford.

This caused match-going fans logistical nightmares when attempting to travel to and from the games. However, it appears that the Premier League has not listened to the club’s plea.

The aforementioned report details that United’s Premier League clash away at Crystal Palace on Saturday has been moved to 5:30pm.

This kick-off time means that fans hoping to take the train to the game face a race against time. There is only one realistic direct service back to Manchester in the evening after the match.

Ten Hag slammed Premier League decision-makers

This all follows on from United’s first two away Premier League fixtures being against Brighton and Southampton–both in the 12:30pm Saturday kick-off slot.

Those are two of the longest possible away days for the club’s supporters, and the kick-off times made them both more difficult.

“First of all, for the fans, it is very unfair to deal with this,” said Ten Hag following the win over Southampton on the weekend.

“With 8pm away games on a Saturday night, the 12:30pm… it’s not right, but they are always there.

“I’m so proud of our fans that they are always there; whatever happens on the pitch, they’re always supportive of the team, and there is a really good connection.

“They bring a very good ambience at Old Trafford and also at away games, [but] I think the Premier League should pay some attention to this.”
