Patrice Evra gives Man United star the ultimate praise, it’s fully deserved

Patrice Evra has delivered some huge praise for one Manchester United star after a disappointing overall campaign for the club.

The Reds have one last chance of making the season a success after major difficulties in the Premier League and early elimination from the Champions League.

Next weekend sees United face Manchester City in the FA Cup final once again after losing 2-1 in the Wembley clash last season.

Evra, one of the best full-backs in the club’s history, has been speaking ahead of the final and focused praise on Diogo Dalot.

The right-back has been a mainstay in the backline at Old Trafford this term despite injuries surrounding him. The 25-year-old has barely played alongside the same centre-back pairing all season.

However, he has performed consistently across the year and Evra believes that he offers the fundamentals that a top full-back needs.

“For me, Diogo Dalot is a constant player with great regularity,” Evra told Ojogo. “What I like most when I watch him play is the energy he puts on the field, he always wants to get up the pitch and never gives up.

“That’s why, in my opinion, he has been Manchester United’s most regular player this season.

“Even in games where the team didn’t do so well, he always demonstrated his quality. He has incredible physical power and is not afraid to face 1-1 or even 2-1 situations, he always accepts the challenge.

“For me, these are the fundamental characteristics that a full-back should have. Furthermore, Diogo is a very good person and a humble boy.”

Dalot will be keen to try and help United win the FA Cup later this month so that his best individual season will not be clouded by another poor overall campaign at Old Trafford.
