Panic in Turin after Napoli register interest in Rasmus Højlund, Juventus will offer “important” star to convince Man Utd

There is reportedly panic in Turin as Juventus prepare to offer an “important” star to Manchester United to beat rivals Napoli in a deal for Rasmus Hojlund.

Manchester United are set for a significant squad overhaul this summer, with Ruben Amorim planning to reshape the team in his vision.

Under the direction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, the club intends to offload at least ten senior players to raise substantial funds and revamp the dressing room.

Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelöf, and Jonny Evans are all expected to depart when their contracts expire in June. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho are likely to be sold, with United aiming to collect over £100 million in transfer fees.

The futures of Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho remain uncertain as the club weighs financial constraints against its long-term ambitions.

Rasmus Hojlund’s poor form this season has also led to question-marks over his future, with just four goals in the Premier League this season.

Juventus will offer Luiz in deal for Hojlund

Following on from suggestions that there could be interest from within Italy for the underperforming United striker, TuttoSport have provided the latest details.

According to that report, Amorim views Hojlund as an ‘expendable’ asset who can be sold this summer and both Juventus and Napoli are interested in him.

It was explained that the side from Naples are eager on the signing and could include Victor Osimhen in a deal for the Danish forward and Juventus are aware of their rival’s interest.

Those in Turin want Hojlund to replace Dusan Vlahovic and consider Napoli as a major threat to this potential deal, and so they are seemingly trying to convince United with a potential swap deal.

The report claims that Douglas Luiz could be an ‘important card’ in this transfer saga and that Juventus would be prepared to offer him in a deal to get Hojlund. The exact details of a potential deal were not clarified.

Luiz has experienced difficulties since arriving in Italy but was a key player for Aston Villa beforehand. He has been tipped to become an “important” player for the Serie A outfit but it seems like they are willing to part ways.

United should ignore Luiz offer for Hojlund

United fans probably would have been open to a move for Luiz a couple of years ago but his form at Juventus has since raised eyebrows.

More importantly, the Reds cannot really afford to be swapping a striker for a central midfield player when their single-biggest issue is in the final third.

While Hojlund might not be the right man to lead the line for United, he is an extra man in a squad that doesn’t have enough attackers.

Even if United sign a first-choice centre-forward like Liam Delap, they still need another player in that position, with Chido Obi acting as the third-choice.

If the club do end up deciding to let Hojlund leave, they have to either get the money to buy a striker or one in return. A swap deal involving a questionable midfielder should not be considered.
