Official: Manchester United face Wolves on 2023/24 Premier League opening day
The Premier League have confirmed that Manchester United will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford on the opening day of the 2023/24 season.
Last time out, Manchester United finished third in the 2022/23 Premier League season, accumulating 75 points in their first season under Erik ten Hag.
Finishing in the Champions League positions, United ended up four points above fourth-placed Newcastle United, and eight points above bitter rivals Liverpool, who finished in fifth.

Manchester City claimed their fifth league title in six seasons with 89 points, with Arsenal ending the season in second with 84 points – nine above Ten Hag’s Reds.
Last season, United opened their Premier League campaign by welcoming Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford, who travelled back down south with all three points in a surprising 2-1 victory.
This season, the club will welcome Wolves to Old Trafford on the opening game week of the season, with the fixture kicking off on Monday 14 August.
The last time United faced them was in May when goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho confirmed a 2-0 win for the Red Devils.
The club will no doubt be looking to better their total points last season and aim to start their 2023/24 Premier League campaign with a triumphant victory.
