Manchester United confirmed their place in the 2023/24 Champions League group stages after finishing third in the Premier League table.

Erik ten Hag’s side earned their place in Europe’s elite competition with a victory against Chelsea at Old Trafford last month.

The club spent the 2022/23 campaign in the Europa League after a sixth place finish in the season prior. United were knocked out against eventual-winners Sevilla in the quarter-finals.

The Reds will be eager to compete against the best of the best in Europe once again and 25 other clubs in the group stages have been confirmed, whilst the remaining six positions in the group will be decided through the qualifying rounds ahead of the competition proper.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United

Paris Saint-Germain, Lens

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Union Berlin

Napoli, Lazio, Internazionale, AC Milan

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Sevilla

Benfica (Portugal)

FC Porto (Portugal)

Salzburg (Austria)

Feyenoord (Netherlands)

Celtic (Scotland)

Red Star (Serbia)

Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)

Manchester United’s last outing in the Champions League saw them top a group consisting of Villarreal, Atalanta and Young Boys.

The Reds were then knocked out of quarter-final stage against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid would go onto win that year’s competition with a 1-0 win against Liverpool in the final.

This year will either see Inter or Manchester City lift the trophy, with the final being played out on Saturday 10 June.
