Martin Dubravka opens up on Man United spell after being recalled by Newcastle
Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has been recalled from his loan at Old Trafford and will return to his parent club Newcastle United.
Dubravka, 33, was brought into the club by Erik ten Hag following Dean Henderson’s loan move to Nottingham Forest in the summer.
The goalkeeper made just two appearances for The Reds, both being victories in the Carabao Cup.
Despite limited minutes during his spell at the Theatre of Dreams, the Slovakian expressed his delight at his time with the club.
“Hi guys, I have been recalled from loan at Manchester United and will return to Newcastle,” began Dubravka on an Instagram post.
“Although short, it has been an enjoyable experience in Manchester and I wish to sincerely thank all the coaches, staff, players and fans of Manchester United for their warmth and support during my loan spell.”
United could be looking at a short-term option to be David de Gea’s number two for the rest of the season.
