Marcel Sabitzer explains his mentality: “I hate losing”

Marcel Sabitzer has admitted he “hates losing” after his Manchester United loan move was confirmed.
After Christian Eriksen was confirmed as injured for at least three months, Manchester United rushed to make one final signing on deadline day as Marcel Sabitzer flew in to join Erik ten Hag‘s squad for the second half of the season.
Sabitzer joins on a six-month loan deal from Bayern Munich, although the agreement does not contain any sort of option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Speaking to club media after his signing, Sabitzer has admitted he hates losing, even in training.
“Yeah [laughs], I’m a very bad loser. Even in training, I can’t lose. I have that mentality over the years, I hate to lose,” he described.
Erik ten Hag has said on multiple occasions that “good is not good enough” – and Sabitzer agrees.
Of course,” he said. “Keep going every single day, put it all out (there) in training sessions, that’s why I’m here. I like the way he plays, his teams play, he’s a good coach and I’m looking forward to meeting him and playing under him.”
“That is my mentality; to go forward, have a voice in the dressing room, on the pitch and give it all. That’s normal for me,” he added. Manchester United have a set of strong voices in the dressing room such as David de Gea and Bruno Fernandes, and Sabitzer will only add to that.
“I will give my all for the jersey,” Sabitzer declared. “I’m very happy to be here, I will give my best and we will see what happens, but I am here to win trophies.”
Manchester United is a big club with fantastic fans,” he continued. “Old Trafford is a big stadium, I’ve played there once – it was empty – but I felt it was very nice. It is a great feeling to have the badge on my chest and I’m looking forward [to it].”
“You can have a lot of expectations from me: good shots, duels. I’m excited to be on the pitch at Old Trafford.”
