He played his part during United’s 2022 pre-season tour, impressing alongside friend and fellow academy player Zidane Iqbal, and he has now chosen to go out on loan to League One for the rest of the season, according to the Mail.
Forest Green, who are currently fighting a relegation battle in England’s third tier, will provide Savage with the opportunity to graduate towards more senior football, with the lower leagues of England proving to be a successful and previously trodden path for some of the Premier League regulars, such as Dean Henderson and Harry Kane.
Savage has only made one competitive appearance for United so far, in December 2021, against Young Boys in the Europa League, but this move could prove to be a vital stepping stone if he wants to break through the ranks in Erik ten Hag’s side.
