Manchester United transfer finally comes to a conclusion as club “will not satisfy” demands
One Manchester United transfer has finally come to a conclusion ahead of the summer deadline as the club “will not satisfy” the demands.
The Reds plan to make their final addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad in the final days of the window, having recently secured Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
After bringing in Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee earlier this summer, United are now concentrating on strengthening their midfield depth.
Manuel Ugarte remains the top target to reinforce the engine room at Old Trafford, although the club have been looking at several other options as well.
One of those is the possibility of bringing Sofyan Amrabat back to the club after he spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with the Reds.
Amrabat had a mixed season, which ended on a high note as he started the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City in May.
United were unwilling to activate the buy option in the Moroccan’s loan contract but were open to discussing a different deal at a lower price.
It was clear that Amrabat wanted an Old Trafford return but any large developments in relation to a potential move were absent.
However, now, it has been revealed by Corriere dello Sport that United “will not satisfy” the demands of Fiorentina and Amrabat will not be moving back to the club.
It was explained that the Italian side were looking for around £12.7 million for the player but United are not planning on moving forward with a deal.
Instead, they are likely to push on with a deal for PSG midfielder Ugarte, with an initial loan deal being discussed between the clubs.
That would also include an obligation for the Reds to buy the 23-year-old next summer, potentially easing any financial concerns if they fail to make a big sale before the end of the window.
