Manchester United told that “no-brainer” transfer will go through in 2026 as long as paycut is agreed upon

Manchester United have been told that one transfer next summer is going to be a “no-brainer” as long as a paycut can be agreed upon.

During the summer, Manchester United underwent a major attacking overhaul, with Marcus Rashford securing a loan move to Barcelona.

After a disappointing campaign in which Ruben Amorim’s side managed just 44 Premier League goals, a shake-up was inevitable.

Several key forwards departed permanently, including Alejandro Garnacho and Antony while Jadon Sancho joined Aston Villa on loan. Rashford also left on a temporary deal, though his move to Barcelona includes an option to buy.

Since arriving in Spain, the English winger has begun to rediscover the form that once made him one of Europe’s most exciting talents.

Rashford scored a tremendous goal in Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Elche on the weekend, with his powerful shot smashing in off the crossbar.

That makes it six goals and seven assists for the United loanee so far this term and he will be hoping that he is proving to Barcelona that he’s worth keeping after the season ends.

The Spanish outfit have an option to buy Rashford and European football expert Andy Brassell has stated that they are planning to activate that clause.

“I mean, look, in terms of what he’s actually produced while he’s there, it’s a no-brainer to want to keep him. He’s been absolutely brilliant,” he told Danny Kelly’s Trans Euro Express podcast.

Rashford needs to accept paycut for Barcelona move

Rashford lowered his wage demands to help facilitate his loan move to Barcelona and he will be expected to do similar when they sign him permanently.

“As we’ve underlined, Barcelona don’t have tons of money,” Brassell continued. “But I think when you bear in mind that they could amortise that over the length of a contract, that they are planning to give Rashford another pay cut, if he will accept it.

“Obviously, he’s already taken a pay cut to go there, but he is speaking their language, and I don’t mean Catalan.

“And I think the plan is that they will give him a longer contract with the same sort of money that he’s getting at the moment.

“So, it works out to be spread over a longer period of time, which is how they will make it work financially.”
