Manchester United target told to snub Rúben Amorim in favour of West Ham after £30m price drop

Manchester United target Tyler Dibling has been urged to snub interest from big clubs this summer in favour of a move from Southampton to West Ham.

Manchester United have admired Southampton teen sensation Tyler Dibling for some time and reportedly viewed him as a long-term investment opportunity.

Jason Wilcox, now the director of football at United, previously worked with Dibling at Southampton and is reportedly a major admirer of the player’s technical qualities and ball-carrying ability.

However, multiple reports have suggested that United’s interest is currently subdued due to the still-high asking price, with no formal approach made yet.

Unless the price drops further, United may continue to monitor from a distance rather than compete in an increasingly crowded field.

Dibling sees price drop amid continued interest

Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester City, West Ham, and Tottenham have all been keeping tabs on Dibling, whose versatility allows him to play both centrally and out wide.

RB Leipzig have already had a £30 million bid rejected, underscoring how highly Southampton still values the player despite their relegation.

Although he was previously valued at around £85 million, Southampton have reduced his price tag to around £50 million this summer following their relegation.

Spurs are reportedly only prepared to move for Dibling if they fail to secure Bryan Mbeumo, leaving the door open for other clubs.

With no concrete offers on the table yet from Premier League rivals, the race for Dibling could intensify quickly if one club makes a decisive move.

A place such as West Ham is the best fit for Dibling

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has weighed in on the saga, advising Dibling to choose West Ham over any of the Premier League giants.

Speaking from experience, Agbonlahor argued that a move to a club like West Ham or Everton would allow the youngster to develop through regular first-team football.

“We were talking about [Liam] Delap [before]. Dibling; Can he go to an Everton or a West Ham and show it for a couple of seasons?” Agbonlahor said. “He’s too young for that big move to Liverpool.”

Speaking in agreement, former Watford and Premier League striker Troy Deeney explained that, although previous players have made the jump from Southampton to Liverpool before, Dibling still has too much to prove.

“Personally? no, I don’t think so,” Deeney said when asked about whether Dibling should follow in Sadio Mane’s Liverpool footsteps. “I think he’s got a lot to prove. To go from Southampton to Liverpool is a monster of a jump.”
