Manchester United submit offer for “first choice” Luke Shaw replacement
Manchester United have submitted their first offer for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella on a one-year loan deal to replace Luke Shaw.
This is according to transfer expert David Ornstein, who claims that Chelsea have responded to Manchester United and talks are ongoing between the two clubs.
It is said that the offer is for an initial loan deal into Erik ten Hag‘s squad to replace the injured Luke Shaw, with talks now surrounding the extra that could be added to the proposal.

This could include an option or obligation to buy the player, which may come in handy should Marc Cucurella impress during his potential spell at the club.
It has been claimed by Fabrizio Romano that United’s loan fee offer is in excess of £2 million, but Laurie Whitwell describes that Chelsea want £7m.
Luke Shaw was recently confirmed as injured after United’s 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur and could face a spell on the sidelines until November.
Cucurella has previously been described as United’s preferred choice for a left-back replacement, with the player having previous Premier League experience at Chelsea and Brighton.
Further to this, Ornstein describes that Cucurella is viewed as a good fit for the Dutch manager system and at present he is the “top candidate” for the position.
United have until 11 pm BST on Friday 1 December to secure the signing.
