One of Manchester United’s stars is reportedly ‘very close’ to accepting a contract offer made to him by one of Europe’s elite sides.
With Manchester United in desperate need of a squad overhaul, many players have been put on the chopping block and are expected to depart the club over the coming months.
The main area of the team in need of a major reshuffling is the attack, which has already seen the arrival of £62.5million forward Matheus Cunha.
Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t stopping there, however, and are hoping to complete the signing of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo in the near future.
With two new forwards set to join Amorim’s attacking arsenal, it is expected that many of United’s wingers will find a new club this summer. One of whom is reportedly ‘very close’ to doing so.
Sancho close to Juventus move
Having spent the 2024/25 campaign at rival Premier League side Chelsea, Jadon Sancho has been tasked with finding himself a new club, with it being clear that he isn’t in Amorim’s plans.
With Chelsea not wanting to make Sancho’s loan a permanent move, the 25-year-old has had to reevaluate his situation and has attracted interest from numerous suitors around Europe.
The English winger has attracted interest from the likes of Juventus, Napoli, and Fenerbahce, but it is the former who are reportedly closing in on his signature.
As reported by Italian journalist Marco Giordano on X, Sancho is ‘very close’ to accepting the contract offer made by Juventus’ sporting director, and United have already approved the £25 million fee.
Amorim’s headache soon to be over?
It is almost certain that, if Sancho departs, he will soon be followed out the door by numerous other United attackers, including the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho.
The likes of Rashford and Garnacho have been embroiled in drama recently, with the latter posting a controversial social media post wearing Rashford’s Aston Villa kit.
These sort of antics have not been worth the effort for Amorim since his arrival, with his attackers contributing far more off the pitch than they have on the pitch.
Amorim will be desperate for his attacking dramas to come to an end, and will be hopeful that as of next season, he can spend his time focusing entirely on delivering the results expected from a club of United’s stature.
