Manchester United star ‘likely to stay’ at Old Trafford as Juventus ‘look to steal’ wanted man from Rúben Amorim

One Manchester United star now looks likely to stay at Old Trafford this summer, with Juventus set to sign a striker that fans had hoped Rúben Amorim would bring in.

The 2025 summer transfer window represents an opportunity to finally change the squad so it suits Rúben Amorim’s tactics, rather than still being a squad that was purchased for Erik ten Hag’s system.

Both of Amorim’s transfers have shown promise that when the Portuguese manager has more of his own players, Manchester United will improve drastically.

Ayden Heaven was considered to be one of the better players before he suffered an injury against Leicester City, and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu has almost been an ever-present since he was signed.

However, selling players could be more important than bringing players in, as funds need to be raised before anyone can join the club.

Several players have been linked with a move away from the club, including Rasmus Højlund, who has struggled for goals this season, but he now appears to be staying at Old Trafford next season.

Hojlund to stay at United due to Osimhen move

Previously linked to Juventus, Højlund now looks set to remain at United because Victor Osimhen could be set for a move to Turin.

Alfredo Pedullá has said that Osimhen “is ready for a new experience” after a year playing in the Turkish League for Galatasaray.

Despite previous reports from England claiming that Hojlund was one of their “primary targets”, Juventus are reportedly now favouring a move for Osimhen and stealing him from the market despite United fans pleading the club to sanction his transfer, with the Nigerian also keen on the deal.

Højlund now looks set to stay at Old Trafford and compete for the starting striker position with Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi.

However, if his poor form in front of goal continues, fans will continue to be frustrated with the Danish striker, who appears to be struggling due to the pressure players receive at Old Trafford.

Loan move for Højlund could suit all parties

Despite his poor form this season, United will not want to sell Hojlund this summer, as they will likely have to take a serious loss on the transfer fee they paid for him just two years ago.

Therefore, a loan move away from Old Trafford, similar to Diogo Dalot’s move to AC Milan and Amad’s move to Sunderland, could help Hojlund reach the potential he showed last season.

The Danish striker could play regular football away from the pressure cooker that is Old Trafford and work on his game before coming back next season and showing what he is truly capable of.

This would mean that United would need to bring in several strikers in the summer, but a deal for Liam Delap seems almost finalised and several other talents are available for a discounted fee or even for free, most notably Lille’s Jonathan David.
