Manchester United “spying” on 6ft 4 Serie A striker alongside four European clubs
Manchester United are said to be “spying” on Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee alongside four other European clubs.
This is according to Il Resto del Carlino via Sport Witness, where it is explained that the Italian newspaper claims that Manchester United are looking at “affordable options” for the striker role in either the January or summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag‘s men have had a goal problem so far this season, with the club failing to either create or put away chances, leading to their demise in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Despite Rasmus Højlund being their current joint top scorer across all competitions, he has just one in the domestic league, and others, such as Marcus Rashford and Antony, are failing to impress in front of goal.
This is apparently the reason why United are targeting 23-year-old Joshua Zirkzee, who stands at 6 feet and 4 inches – the Italian newspaper claims that if the player “remains constant” in his form for the rest of the season he will be “bombarded” with offers.
United face reported competition from Newcastle, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli, who are all keeping their eye on Zirkzee.
The Dutchman has scored eight goals and provided four assists in 21 appearances across the Serie A and Italy Cup so far this season.
