Manchester United send new message to Chelsea after secret Alejandro Garnacho request from Stamford Bridge

Manchester United are aiming to further strengthen their squad with dream targets, but must first raise funds through the sale of a wanted winger.

With three top class attackers through the door already this window, Manchester United’s priority has shifted towards a central midfielder and a goalkeeper.

Recent rumours have surfaced regarding Sevilla star Lucien Agoume, as the Frenchman’s release clause is reportedly set at £35 million.

Links with world-class goalkeepers, such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, have caused speculation throughout the transfer window although that deal now seems unlikely.

However, the acquisition of such players may be hampered by the club’s inability to raise funds through player sales this summer.

Despite Ruben Amorim transfer listing several players at the start of the summer, the club is without a major sale heading towards the final weeks of the transfer window. This has to change if the club is to sign their dream signings.

Garnacho in transfer saga with Chelsea

Alejandro Garnacho is a name tainted by the controversy the winger finds himself in after Amorim decided his career in Manchester is over.

After the club’s worst season in recent years, Amorim told the Argentinian to find a new club, as the manager decided he would not be needed for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

With Garnacho seeking a new club, Chelsea have emerged as the favourites to sign the 21-year-old, despite the London club making a vast amount of signings already this window.

Reports suggest Chelsea is willing to pay £25 million for Garnacho, half of the £50 million valuation United have set, though a bid has not been submitted as of yet.

It has been claimed by TalkSport that the Blues have requested that Garnacho remains patient as they wait until the end of the window to see if United lower their price.

But MailSport have revealed that United have made it clear to Chelsea that they will not accept an offer that doesn’t meet their price tag for the Argentine as they believe it is fair market value.

Amidst a difficult transfer saga, Garnacho was not named in the squad to face Arsenal last Sunday, and will likely be without a place in the travelling squad for Fulham this weekend, and the rest of the season.

Garnacho out of reckoning at United

The relationship between Garnacho and the Reds has spoiled; the winger’s conduct post the Europa League final has been poor, with Garnacho openly criticising Amorim’s choice not to start him in the final.

‘Up until the final I played every round helping the team and today I play 20 minutes, I don’t know,’ Garnacho commented after the final.

This led to the player being ousted from the pre-season tour in America and ultimately being replaced by the £200 million trio who made their debuts against Arsenal.

The club have expressed the desire to sign two more dream transfer targets before the window closes in September, with departures expected imminently.

Garnacho is one of those expected departures. The club are working to negotiate a suitable deal for the winger, as it appears he has already played his last game for United.
