Manchester United are reportedly interested in Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku this month and their Premier League rivals have set a price tag.

Ruben Amorim needs new signings for his Manchester United squad in the January transfer window and they are looking at additions for the forward line.

The most-needed signing for the club is a wingback, and the Reds are eyeing Lecce star Patrick Dorgu as a potential solution for that.

Meanwhile, there are a host of options United are considering in the frontline, including Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

United have also previously had reportedly interest in Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku and the latest rumours claim that they are still looking at the French forward.

United’s stance clear on Nkunku valuation

Nkunku has not had a great time at Chelsea and is looking for an exit from Stamford Bridge this month. He has started just three Premier League games so far this season.

The Reds enquired about the 27-year-old’s availability back in November. He can play across the front line and there is an argument that he could suit playing as one of the split no.10s in Amorim’s system.

Latest reports from Sky Sports have revealed that Nkunku is a potential target for the Reds this month and that talks have been held between intermediaries about a move.

It was added that Chelsea would only be tempted to do business with United if they matched their £70 million valuation of Nkunku.

That is quite shocking to read considering the Blues are trying to sign Alejandro Garnacho, a player who is seven years younger than Nkunku and showed much more in the Premier League, for less than £60 million.

It is no surprise to see that United’s response to that valuation, according to the report, is that they will not meet that price tag for the Frenchman.

Nkunku would be a horror move for United

United will be faced with a lot of questions if they end up selling Garnacho to Chelsea before the January deadline and the most important one will be: Who is his replacement?

If the answer to that is a failed Chelsea forward, who is 27 years old and going to cost even more than Garnacho, absolutely no one will be happy.

Amorim’s side will need a player who comes in and is already better than Garnacho is now. Nkunku is not. And that price tag is also ridiculous.

Thankfully, it appears that United’s stance is clear, with the club not going near the Frenchman at his current valuation.
