Manchester United release statement surrounding three contact renewal discussions
Manchester United have sent their official list of retained and released players to the Premier League ahead of a full announcement and confirmed they are in discussions with three players.
United concluded the 2023/24 season on a high note by winning the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
However, their disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League provides a more accurate reflection of Erik ten Hag’s squad’s overall performance.
INEOS is gearing up for a busy transfer window, anticipating both arrivals and departures. But they first have to deal with the current squad players with expiring contracts.
It has recently been reported that Omari Forson will be departing the club at the end of the month when his contract expires. United have confirmed that a deal is still on the table for the young winger.
The club have also detailed that Brandon Williams will be departing at the end of his deal later this month after spending time on loan at Ipswich Town.
However, the Reds have also detailed that discussions remain open with Tom Heaton, Jonny Evans and Shola Shoretire, who all have their deals running out at the end of the month.
United stated: “Discussions remain open with Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton over potential new contracts while Omari Forson has formally been offered a new deal.
“Academy graduate, Brandon Williams will leave United following the expiry of his contract. The full-back, who joined the club at the age of nine and proudly went on to make 51 first-team appearances, will always be welcome back at the club through the Alumni programme.
“Discussions remain open with Shola Shoretire over a potential new contract.”
