According to a new report, Manchester United are preparing an offer to sign two Inter Milan players for a combined £85 million to add to Rúben Amorim’s squad.
Rúben Amorim is looking to add a whole host of new players to his starting XI as of next season, with Manchester United looking to revamp a squad in need of fresh talent.
The club have been very closely linked with both Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap so far, with a deal expected to be completed in the coming days for the former, while the latter is available for £30 million.
However, United are also reported to have a desire to sign a new midfielder, right wing-back, and possibly centre-back, with rumours also linking André Onana with an exit.
Should United sell Onana, they would also need to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper alongside the five other positions they are aiming to secure.
United readying offer for Inter Milan duo
With United looking to secure the signings of Cunha and Delap as soon as possible, the club are also keeping an eye on the development of targets for the other aforementioned positions.
According to the Italian outlet InterLive, two of said players belong to Inter Milan, with United looking to lodge a combined £85 million bid for the pair, much like the transfer that saw the club sign Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich last summer.
One such player is Denzel Dumfries, who would operate very well in the right wing-back position. According to the report, United are interested in submitting a £34 million offer for the 29-year-old flanker.
Dumfries made his return to action after a hamstring injury off the bench as Inter lost 1-0 against AS Roma. The Dutchman has been integral for the club across the last six months, and has been “phenomenal this season” amid their push for the Serie A title.
United also looking at Bisseck bid
Amid United’s search for new centre-backs, United are also said to be eyeing a £51 million offer for 24-year-old centre-back Yann Bisseck as Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans depart after their contracts expire.
The German defender has been less of a mainstay for inter than Dumfries this campaign, but he has been touted as a fantastic player after Inter have watched marked improvement in him across his two seasons at the side.
Giuseppe Marotta, the chairman and CEO of Inter, is reportedly willing to consider any serious offers for the majority of his players this summer, and the combined £85 million offer for Dumfries and Bisseck certainly crosses that threshold.
However, with United already having to commit just over £90 million to the signings of Cunha and Delap, if they are successful, it is expected that the club will look to sell players before launching any other significant offers.
