Manchester United predicted XI to face Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League
Manchester United will travel to North London as they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the season’s first away match of the Premier League season.
The Reds has had a shaky start to the 2023/24 Premier League season. The Reds earned all three points against Wolves in a match that also saw a late penalty scare for United.
A rare goal from veteran defender Raphael Varane gave his team the lead before Andre Onana kept his cool in the dying minutes of the game to seal the victory for United.
In the pre-match press conference, Ten Hag emphasized improving the away record, and hence the match against Spurs is very crucial for Ten Hag and his men.
Andre Onana had an impressive Premier League debut and is the starting goalkeeper for the team. Luke Shaw will slot on the left side of the defence. The Englishman was booked in the last match, but he will be crucial with his overlapping runs.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez will be the central defensive pair. Although the Argentine had a poor outing against the Wolves, the ‘Butcher’ is set to partner Varane in the heart of the defense.
Aaron Wan Bissaka provided the assist for the winning goal earlier this week and is set to retain his place in the starting 11.
In the three-man midfield, Casemiro will be the lone DM operating at the base, with Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes occupying the rest of the two spots. Mount’s performance against Wolves was put under scrutiny, as a lot of times United lacked a man in the midfield, thus paving the way for Wolves to win the midfield battle.
Antony will be on the right flank, the former Ajax man is constantly under the lens, and he will be looking to break his goal less streak early in the game. There are doubts regarding the availability of the two other spots in the front three.
Garnacho played on the left wing in the last match but failed to make an impact. It is to be seen whether Erik ten Hag sticks with the teenager or gives Jadon Sancho a chance over him.
At the top, Marcus Rashford is set to spearhead the attack. Anthony Martial, however, is injury free and was on the field in the last match. The Frenchman might get some playing time in the second half.
Full Manchester United predicted XI:
Onana, Wan Bissaka, Varane, Martínez, Shaw, Casemiro, Mount, Fernandes, Antony, Rashford, Sancho.
