Manchester United face Tottenham Hotspur in their second Premier League fixture of the season on Saturday evening.

The Reds will be looking to improve upon their opening weekend performance. Despite winning 1-0 against Wolves, Erik ten Hag’s side were underwhelming and perhaps fortunate to collect three points.

Ange Postecoglou’s team drew 2-2 against Brentford on Sunday afternoon during his first match in charge at Spurs.

It will certainly be a difficult task for Ten Hag’s men to get another three points in north London – a much improved performance will need to be on show.

One problem on Monday was the dynamic and performances of the front three. Alejandro Garnacho had his worst performance in a United shirt whilst Marcus Rashford was uninvolved playing as a no.9.

Anthony Martial appeared on the bench against Wolves and could be an option to start at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Although, Jadon Sancho starting as a false-nine is another possibility after his positive cameo off the bench on Monday evening.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez was replaced at half-time against Wolves, with Raphaël Varane stating there was a small injury concern for his centre-back partner.

“A little problem on his ankle, tendon,” he replied when asked about Martinez being subbed. “We’ll see but I don’t think it is a big deal. We’ll see how he is this week.”

However, Ten Hag has since confirmed that the Argentine has been in training and believes he will be available for the clash.

United will still be without several first-team players for the clash including Rasmus Hojlund, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo.

The hosts meanwhile have received a boost regarding centre-back Cristian Romero, who is available for the encounter despite concerns over a concussion in their opening day fixture.
