Manchester United offer star Rúben Amorim called a “hero” ‘out for transfer this summer’

Manchester United have offered one of their players who Rúben Amorim once dubbed as a “hero” out for transfer this summer, according to reports.

After Thursday’s ecstatic Europa League quarter final saw Manchester United book their final four spot to keep their Champions League hopes alive, heads have started to turn towards what could be a very busy summer for Ruben Amorim’s men.

With it being no secret that Amorim’s side have underperformed throughout their 2024/25 season, many summer ins and outs are expected in order to take United back to where they belong.

A second summer under the new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is set to be a very lively one, with many new faces looking necessary in order to properly buy into Amorim’s philosophy.

Pastures new for United shot-stopper?

United look like they’re already making early preparations for this summer, with a lot of players being linked with possible moves away from the club. One of these names is FA Cup “hero” Altay Bayindir.

After United’s penalty shootout victory against Arsenal back in January, Amorim said about Bayindir that “he was our hero” due to the Turkish international’s two penalty saves.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik via A Spor, Bayindir has been offered a move to Besiktas, who are currently managed by for United boss and striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This, however, was met with a very unimpressed response, as the Black Eagles wouldn’t want to pay a transfer fee for Bayindir if they were to make a deal happen. They find Bayindir too expensive.

United’s goalkeeper conundrum

The goalkeeping position has been a constant sore spot for Amorim’s side, with first-choice André Onana frequently making costly errors, and Bayindir seemingly not being good enough to take over.

It seems likely that we will see some movement with regards to shot-stoppers in the upcoming transfer window, with neither keeper looking safe from departure.

In the build-up to the summer window, it has been previously reported that United have started the search for replacements, and names such as Bart Verbruggen and Freddie Woodman have already been mentioned.

If Amorim’s side can get this right before the start of next season, the Portuguese tactician will be optimistic that his side can climb from their current lacklustre position of 14th in the Premier League.
